Antique Art Nouveau 6.73ct.tw. Sapphire and Diamond Statement Necklace Silver 18k with Seed Pearl Platinum Chain

Found is this gorgeous antique Art Nouveau blue sapphire and diamond lavaliere necklace in silver over 18k yellow gold with a platinum seed pearl chain. It is made up of one 2.40 ct. cushion and one 1.45ct. pear shaped, natural blue sapphires (approx. total 3.85 cts.) with twenty .10 ct. tw.  rose cut diamonds (SI1 Clarity, H-I Color) and approx. 2.78 cts. total of forty-one old European round and cushion full cut diamonds (VS2-SI1 Clarity G-H-I Color). Total for the diamonds is around 2.88 cts. The approx. total of all the stones is 6.73 cts. The attached chain is platinum and has 10 seed pearls. The centerpiece is a stylized heart with the cushion sapphire set in eight prongs at the cleft with six rose cuts and 18 full cuts forming the frame. The frame measures 29mm side to side and has a cushion cut diamond with four rose and one full cut prong and bead set through the vertical center. There is a hinged extension at the bottom with 1 milgrain set full cut and the pear shaped sapphire set in six prongs. There is a loop accent on each side of the heart, each with five rose cuts and ten full cuts. The centerpiece measures 42mm side to side overall and 50mm top to bottom. The light, loop fancy chain measures 8-½ inches long on each side of the pendant. End to end the necklace is 18 inches. The necklace weighs 11.8 grams. Questions are welcome for Necklace 3180.

Appraisals

Jewelry Finds' pieces are independently appraised by highly-experienced, professional GIA-trained Gemologists. They are appraised as accurately as possible in the mountings so as not to affect the integrity of the pieces. The appraisals are for our use only but the pertinent facts are in our listings. We are no longer sending insurance appraisals after the sale due to some insurance companies demanding they come straight from the appraiser/not the seller.

Jewelry Era is approximate unless we have purchased from an original owner, or it has been established from our research. Time period is determined by jewelry design, construction, hallmarks (if any) and materials used - part of the intriguing mystery of antique and estate jewelry.
